"The natal chart is like a seed and progressions are the unfolding in time of that into the plant it is to become. Transits, are like a daily weather report. In political astrology, these three factors have to be taken into account!"

re: Kushner - I remember you talking about Jared and Pluto, and how 2018 would bring hard times to him. I remember how far away 2018 sounded at that time. But ut turned out to be a great prediction!

re: March - First let me again thank you for your weekly column. It is a Monday highlight. This week I have some additional comments regarding the March 24th March for Our Lives and the NRA chart.
Looking at the March for our Lives chart, one standout to me is the Mars-Moon opposition and a wider Mars-Saturn conjunction tying Saturn to the opposition to the Moon. Opposition aspects, as you know, indicate opposing viewpoints and opposing forces. Mars-Saturn could very well be the police. The augmented t-square, Mars & Saturn to Sun to Moon, could indicate loss of life due to police (or counter demonstration) actions.

re: decency - Thought this OpEd in the New York Times might interest you. It makes a case for a new and powerful force of change arising in the US., the force of decency. Is this Lilith in the US chart? Ceres? Other asteroids? Would love to see your thoughts in a future column.

A. Thanks for the link, and it’s something I’ve referred to in the past based on the Saturn-Pluto conjunction in Capricorn with the close involvement of Ceres and Eris. This chart will be reviewed again in the near future.

re: unwitting collusion - In your story on the Mueller investigation, the unwitting comment was not in any way a likely reference to Don Jr.s meeting which was very witting! He knew exactly who he was meeting with and why. That’s been well established. It refers instead to the indictment’s statements that Trump campaign staff around the country, in other words, locals, were the ones who worked with these people and were even paid by them without realizing they were dealing with Russians. That is stated plainly in the indictment. I think we will see more upcoming about the real Trump campaign running the show that were quite wittingly working with Russians including via social media in other ways via the Rebekah Mercer firm, Cambridge Analytica.

re: Ceres - My question has to do with ceres. I recently discovered that when ceres goes retrograde it lasts for 9 months (long enough to gestate and birth an infant!) and since it's in leo it's conjuncting the very planets pluto is inconjuncting. Since many people must have pluto in leo, is this some kind of generational thing? In my life it has manifested partially as distress and death stalking my pets no matter how hard I try to protect them. Hoping for some relief in June when ceres heads into virgo.

A. Ceres is retrograde for only three months, but is in Leo for nine months. Yes, this may influence the Pluto in Leo generation, also known as the “baby-boomers”. Many will have health crises during this time, or have to manage their parents’ well-being and life passages.

re: NewsScope - Appreciated the insight into Rod Rosenstein, and that whole NewsScope edition was a great read, once again.

re: death - I read your article on Louise Hay in Dell Astrology Magazine. It was wonderful and insightful. You mentioned her end came when transiting pluto and her progressed sun opposed her natal pluto. It seems very rarely that people live past t. pluto opposed n. pluto or 124 years approx. You answered one reader that Jupiter indicated death; the ultimate journey but Louise had no really bad jupiter transits except maybe progressed sun on the cusp of the 8th, something that can't happen in all charts. You know; what indicators relieve us of loved ones against our desire, you might say?

A. Major outer planet transits or progressions to the Sun can greatly diminish one’s vital force, but generally speaking, numerous challenging astro-events happening at once can bring death.

re: NYSE - Regarding your pop quiz about what else is going on in the NYSE chart, transiting Uranus is activating the Neptune-Saturn opposition. Also transiting Saturn is opposing natal Lilith.

A. Yes, transiting Saturn is opposing the NYSE’s Part of Fortune, which in turn is conjunct Black Moon Lilith. Transiting Uranus is nearly conjunct the elevated Saturn, which is certainly a disruptive influence. Looking at the progressed chart, we have a Fixed Grand Cross, which has provided the steady, long-term growth for the last few years. When a Fixed Grand Cross breaks, it’s like an earthquake.

re: Laurence Fink - Did you hear about this yet? <link> A titan in the financial world is threatening to withhold investments from corporations unless they show they ‘contribute to society.’ I thought either he and/or his company might be interesting to look at from an astrological perspective.

A. Very interesting! Thx for the suggestion…

re: yoga - My name is Jenn and I’m a writer at Jen Reviews. I was doing research on yoga and just finished reading your wonderful blog post: In that article, I noticed that you cited a solid post that I’ve read in the past: https://www.yogajournal.com/lifestyle/281. I just finished writing a guide that is even more detailed, updated and comprehensive on 18 amazing health benefits of yoga. It is over 7,000 words and packed with practical tips and advice. You can find it here: https://www.jenreviews.com/yoga/ If you like the guide we’d be humbled if you cited us in your article. Of course, we will also share your article with our 50k newsletter subscribers and followers across our social platforms. Either way, keep up the great work!

A. Thanks for the links and interest in NeptuneCafe. The article where I referred to yoga is six years old now, and hardly anyone reads that. I wrote a more recent piece about how an injured pro wrestler used yoga to heal himself. So I am a fan of yoga and its benefits, and will keep your article on 18 ways yoga benefits health for future reference. I would like to merge astrology with yoga in some way, but it's not so easy. I will keep looking...

re: Trump - Thanks again for showing the fascinating correlations between Trump’s astrology and his behavior. His upcoming eclipsed super full moon on January 31 ties interestingly to the date of his 2018 State of the Union Address, to be delivered only hours before on January 30. The event looks set to provide plenty of controversy, don’t you think?

A. Thanks for the feedback. That's an excellent insight about the State of the Union!

re: death - Are you good at seeing death in a chart? Are Ceres-Pluto aspects part of the signature?

A. In general, that’s not something I look into. Ceres-Pluto does deal with major life transformations, which may or may not include death, but at least the grieving process is evident, along with the survival mode mind-set, or its opposite, the giving up. I've looked at a few death charts and seen some commonalities. Richard Houck's "The Astrology of Death" is a good source, but half of it is Vedic astrology. Still, he points out the prominence of Jupiter in death charts (the ultimate journey), the lunar nodes activated, and the 4th house conditions (end of the matter).

re: John Bouvier Kennedy - I was reading an article about John Bouvier Kennedy Schlossbert (Caroline Kennedy's son) and how he looks so much like John Kennedy Jr. He's very much interested in climate change and has said he 'aspires to a career in politics". Perhaps you could do a newscope article on this young man and whether his chart has 'presidential potential'.

A. Thanks for the suggestion. Looks like a good idea...

re: Washington - Could you give me/us the Birth Date of the State of Washington...... ??? (Sure wish we still had access to all of your subjects, as they were/are a gold mind of information.... ) Thank YOU.

A. I have Nov 11, 1889 for the state of Washington, set in Olympia, time unknown. Penfield uses 2:27 pm based on his rectification. About “access", all back issues of NewsScope are available, I recently updated the menu where you can find the links. It's difficult to organize them because it makes NeptuneCafe so slow in adding new pages.

re: NewsScope - I was just reading old Newscopes at the archives and I know I was blessed the day I found your site. Just reading your columns gives me relief, I think because you make sense of complex situations. Occasionally I even laugh! Thank you for all your enlightening columns.

re: tax bill - I was looking at chart set for Trump signing tax bill. Is there a special significance to the fact that Saturn and Sun conjunct at 0 degree Capricorn. Just how often can that occur?

A. Yes, it's very rare, and is why I said that it's an empowerment of the corporations, especially since it's in the 10th house. The corporate tax rate was lowered from 35% to 21% - a huge subsidy of American corporations paid for by U.S. taxpayers and an expanded federal debt of $1.5 trillion.

re: Oumuamua - I searched your website as best as I could to see if you have looked into Oumuamua, the first of its astronomical class as an interstellar object, but saw no results. If you have reviewed this item, please direct me to that. If you have otherwise looked into this, my question is what have you found. It was initially described as a comet, then changed to asteroid, but the first ever object from interstellar space. An article said it first appeared from the direction of the star Vega. That would be at 15-Cap-33 I believe, and close to conjunction with Pluto at the time. I thought I would try to see if I could find a date, time of discovery, and location at the observatory in Hawaii for this discovery. It is not easy as most references are to the date only, October 19 2017.

A. Thanks for the info. I haven’t done anything on Oumuamua…

Trump’s Chart Relocated to Pyongyang

Often used to decide whether to relocate to a certain city, A*C*G* lines are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to understanding how the natal horoscope can manifest in any particular region. The lines represent where natal planets are angular if you were to live there. Ideally, the competent astrologer will relocate the horoscope to see what other planets may be influencing the angles.
With the stunning announcement last week that Trump will be having a summit this coming May with North Korea’s Kim Jong Un, it’s a good time to have a look at Trump’s chart relocated to Pyongyang. Using his A*C*G* map, we can see that Mars is on his Descendant near Pyongyang, which accounts for the open hostility between the two leaders. His chart relocated to Pyongyang shows the same information, with Mars about three degrees from the Descendant.

Presumably, the two leaders will meet around the time Uranus enters Taurus on May 16. Transiting Uranus will be exactly sextile his relocated Ascendant at that time (and trine his Descendant), which paves the way for potential breakthroughs. We can expect hard-fought negotiations over the exact date and location of this meeting, since transiting Saturn opposing Trump’s Mercury in mid-May. Transiting Saturn to Mercury also indicates that he may be obliged to study nuclear issues.
Using a relocation chart instead of A*C*G* maps allows astrologers to progress the angles in order to understand the conditions in relevant areas. Trump’s relocated Midheaven is now at 21º Aquarius, and heading into a trine with his Gemini Sun over the coming year. This is true only in Pyongyang (not the U.S.), and portrays an area where he could potentially find honor and success -- if he plays his cards right.
Stormy Daniels Sues Trump

Although the daily melodrama coming out of the White House tends to give any one story a brief news cycle, Trump’s alleged affair with porn star Stormy Daniels is returning to the headlines. Last week, her lawyer sued the president for not signing the non-disclosure agreement. Trump’s lawyer then quickly filed a restraining order to prevent Stormy from speaking publicly about Trump.
Oprah’s elevated Saturn at 9º Scorpio represents her role as a guide, teacher, and leader. It’s especially relevant to the nation since it’s exactly conjunct the U.S. Scorpio Ascendant. Saturn here has given her a sense of responsibility in shaping the public good. However, she was born with Pallas retrograde, giving her no ambition for political office. This year (on August 4), her progressed Pallas turns direct, quite possibly inspiring her to run for president.
Although no one knows for sure, the most widely accepted birth time for Oprah is 4:30 am, which gives her 29º Sagittarius rising. One reason this makes sense is that this Ascendant conjoins the Galactic Center, making her a channel for the collective’s evolutionary path. And then Jupiter, the ruler of her chart, is located in the 6th house of work where it forms a success-oriented trine to her Midheaven.

Oprah is currently experiencing a progressed New Moon, something that happens to everyone every 27 years or so, and marks a major ending and new beginning phase. At 13º Aries, this progressed New Moon is exceptionally poised for an energetic, dramatic new beginning. Another intriguing astro-event is Jupiter turning retrograde now while exactly conjunct her natal Mars. This may imply that she’s seeing opportunity (Jupiter) for action (Mars).
Oprah Winfrey in 2020?

Ever since her heart-warming acceptance speech at the 2018 Global Awards ceremony, Oprah Winfrey has been widely urged to run for president in 2020. Oprah has also been in the news recently as one of the stars of Disney’s latest film, A Wrinkle in Time, and for selling 2.3 million shares of her Weight Watchers stock for $142 million. Time for an update on this media mogul….
As the lawsuit was filed and counter-measures pursued, transiting Saturn arrived at 8º Capricorn, seriously challenging each’s version of what actually happened. Due to its retrograde cycle, Saturn will re-visit this degree area two more times in 2018, ensuring us that this case will remain an important news item. Mueller may get involved since Trump’s lawyer arranged for the $130,000 hush money using campaign email. This affair is tracking like Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinski, and he was impeached for lying about the matter.
As was described in January*, Stormy Daniels and Donald Trump have some strong planetary connections, especially involving the “love planets”. Currently, one of the most important intra-aspects involves her Mercury at 8º Aries, since Mercury is the communication planet and wants to tell her side of the story. Stormy Daniels (née Stephanie Clifford) has Mercury closely quincunx Saturn, which tends to inhibit the otherwise blunt-talking Mercury in Aries.

Her Mercury is also quincunx her sexy Scorpio Moon, so the stories she feels blocked from telling may be associated with her sex life. These three planets form a fateful Yod configuration which, when activated, astrologers often associate with significant life passages, important turning points. Unfortunately for Trump, her Mercury exactly squares his Mercury at 8º Cancer, leading to the inevitable “he said, she said” disagreement.
